DANIEL GARCÍA He was born in Rosario in 1958. He made his first solo exhibition of drawings and paintings in 1982. In 1990 he began his series of ” stretchers “, presenting it first to Rosario, the next year in Buenos Aires and later in France , the U.S. and Mexico. During 1991 and 1992 attended a workshop in Buenos Aires by Guillermo Kuitca coordinated and sponsored by the Fundación Antorchas. Performed numerous solo exhibitions in Buenos Aires and abroad: OMR Gallery in Mexico in 1998 ; Sicardi Gallery in Houston in 1999 ; Ramis Barquet Gallery in New York in 2000 and the Animal Gallery of Santiago de Chile in 2006, among others. He participated in the 47th Venice Biennale in 1997 and the Havana Biennial the same year. Also exhibited at the 1st and 2nd Mercosul Biennial in Porto Alegre, in the 1st and 2nd International Biennial of Buenos Aires , and in 2002 in Ponta De – Cabeça , the First Biennial of Fortaleza, Brazil. He has received among other awards the 2nd Braque Prize 1992 Scholarship for Artistic Creation of Fundación Antorchas in 1994, the First Prize Award of the New World Foundation in 1994, Prime Austria Award in 1996 and the 2nd Acquisition Award the Costantini Collection 1997 Awards. He was regarded as the Young Artist of the Year 1995 by the Argentina Association of Art Critics. Got the Platinum Konex by Konex Foundation in 2002 .
